Kate MacKenzie has 20+ years of experience building food security and anti-poverty solutions. As Executive Director of NYC’s Mayor's Office of Food Policy, Kate advises the Mayor on all elements of food policy and the city’s food system.
Kate launched Food Forward NYC, the city's first-ever 10-year food policy plan, to reach a more equitable, sustainable, and healthy food system by 2030. She also leads the City's Good Food Purchasing program, focused on increasing access to healthy, sustainable foods for over 230 million meals served daily by City agencies.
Kate holds a master's in Public Health Nutrition from Columbia University and a bachelor's in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University. She is also a registered dietician.
