Stephen Morrell is the founder and CEO of Elaitra, a London and San Francisco based startup using conversational AI and medical imaging AI to improve cancer screening and hospital operations. After two decades building and leading quantitative teams at Credit Suisse, he retrained in deep learning for medical imaging at UCL and King’s College London, where his work in breast cancer detection achieved top-ranked performance in the $1M DREAM Digital Mammography Challenge and led to an FDA-cleared product now in clinical use. Stephen and his team now build Twilio-powered voice and messaging agents alongside vision AI tools that help radiologists and clinicians work faster, safer, and at greater scale.
