With over 4 million users across the globe, Be My Eyes has become the largest online community for people with low vision.

John Piette

Director and Principal Investigator at Center for Managing Chronic Disease

Dr. Piette is a Professor of Global Public Health and Internal Medicine, the Director of the University of Michigan Center for Managing Chronic Disease, and a VA Senior Research Career Scientist. His research focuses on developing and evaluating novel strategies for using patient-facing health technology to improve the accessibility and quality of care for patients with chronic illnesses in the US and low/middle-income countries. Dr. Piette is a frequent speaker on mobile technology and behavior change in the US and internationally. He currently leads programs designed to support crisis lines and call centers dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in Latin America.
